The alternative is clear: either man governs his passions and finds peace, or he lets himself be dominated by them and becomes unhappy.

ARE THESE CHALLENGES WEEKLY OR DAILY?

Some challenges are weekly and some are daily. Hopefully they can evolve into weekly and daily habits that drive your success. They are simple but difficult. If done well, they can be the source of much joy and peace in your life.

HOW DO THE ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNERS WORK?

Please see our guide on the Accountability page to help you get an accountability partner or to form an accountability group. You will need these guys.

IS THIS JUST FOR MARRIED MEN?

Every man is called to become what God created him to be. While I present some challenges from a married man's perspective, they can be altered for single, divorced, or religious men. I usually break these down into married or single challenges when necessary.

IS THIS JUST FOR RELIGIOUS MEN?

"There are only two kinds of people, those who accept dogmas and know it, and those who accept dogmas and don’t know it."

- G. K. Chesterton

You do not have to be religious to engage in these challenges. While I come from a religious background, the challenges are meant to be for every man. Prayer and meditation are one of the many challenges that I present, but maybe you don't believe in prayer. Maybe there's a particular book that enlightens or transforms your mind. Maybe you enjoy outdoor silence. You may find that more helpful than the prayer methods I present. It is completely up to you how you engage and accomplish each weekly challenge.

I SAW THE J. R. R. TOLKIEN AND G. K. CHESTERTON QUOTES. IS THIS JUST FOR CATHOLICS?!

Spoiler alert: I'm Catholic. While the Catholic Church has observed the successes and failures of men for 2,000 years, making it well equipped to guide modern man, you do not have to be Catholic to join this program. The word "katholikos" ("Catholic" in Greek) means "universal" and I made these challenges universal for all men. All men desire purpose for their lives. All men need to invest in their family and community. All men love a challenge.

IS THIS JUST FOR MEN?

Behold the Man was written by a man for other men but there's nothing prohibiting a woman from signing up for the challenge!
